Hey there
I have a ds 650 and it was running great till today when i was out with a few friends and when i was in 4 or 5 gear it would cut out, like die and it would take a few min to start it again, it seems like it doesnt get gat, one time it back fired on me when it died, but one time it died out i took the gas cap off will coasting down it tried to start it and it did. It seems funny i can rip around in sand pits all day long but when i get going good in 4 or 5 gear it dies

might check gas tank vent. Check fuel filter if you have one. Could also be float level too low.

 

Is the gas tank vent the gas cap? what the float level?

 

my ds is doing the same thing let me know if you figure it out ive done everything to mine to fix it

The problem with mine it was that my gas line air vent was getting pinched a little to i re routed it so it wasn't and it seemed to fix the problem.
The gas line air vent is under the gas tank cover

Also check battery cables - if they are loose will also cause a problem like this !!!
