a simple compression check of the cylinder will tell you if you have a blown gasket- also, your radiator fluid would be contaminated and your plug would show signs of contamination if your head gasket was blown. If you do pressureize the radiator to check for a headgasket leak- be sure to remove the spark plug to neutralize any pressure in the cylinder.
Are you sure your coolant ratio is correct and you're using the proper sparkplug- both would contribute to overheating.
Some fans will run both ways (+ / - & - / +) make sure when you hard-wired your fan, it's pulling air through the radiator and not pushing...

ok heres an up date to my over heating problem. after cleaning the radatior out very well (took out of bike and washed) refilled coolent with 50/50, i went and rode it around the yard. my temp gauge reads about 135-140 deg and if i turn the fan on and ride it (or let it idle) the temp gauge reads 100-110. hows that for fixing my overheating issue.
