ok i have another issue with this 01 ds i just baught. i have had issues with gas dripping from the drain on the carb and yes the drain screw is tight. then just today went to start it and it was leaking gas from the exaust only when tried to start it, and i had to use the chock to get it started where before it would start with out the chock. and it would fire almost instantly now it cranks for almost a min. any ideas.

You need to take that carb apart and clean it real well. It sounds like it sat for some time and got gummed up. The float is probably sticking open and if you leave the petcock open it will drain the tank.

The float needle goes into a body that is pressed in and has a o-ring.
Remove the body and get a new o-ring. The thickness diameter is 2mm or .080" thick.
Can't remember the ID, just measure the old o-ring.
They dry up and get hard, and thus start to leak.
