You can take all the "shootouts" and put them in one bucket and you won't have beans.

I won't waste my time looking up the sales stats on who sold the most Quads. I ride all the big dune areas in the west, the Paiute trail system (alone and with Jamborees'), Moab and the surrounding area, Az desert and the So Cal desert. I watch a good number of UTube videos about the mud slinging south. I just don't see that many Grizzlys. There was a rash when they first came out w/PS but that faded fast. All the Grizzlys must be in the shop, cause they aren't out on the trails.

Actually you see quite a few Grizzly doing Mud Running but since they are only a single cylinder engine they just flat out do produce the big HP #s that the Can-Am,Polaris and Kawi's do. The main factor that is on the Grizz side tho is the locking front diff which most of the Mud guys love! To say that Grizz are all in the shop could not be farther from the truth. You can ask and multi brand dealer which brand of quads have the most issues and Yamaha is far from the top of that list!

You know they're just yanking your chain, Dodge? I think it depends on where you ride. Up here it seems there are more Polaris ATVs on the trails than any other. The metal skid plates with strong frame, and weight help out when in snow or trying to find the bottom of a mudpit to get traction. I still see plenty of Yamis though. I wouldn't touch a CanAm personally in New England without something to protect the frame. Either a metal skid plate or a frame insert to stiffen the small box frame on the Outy and Rene. I don't care for the front locker lever on the Brute, but that's personal preference. It does work. Ride what you have and what best meets your needs.

why would the most quads sold mean that that brand is the best?

perhaps everyone that bought one of those quads were swayed by commercials or other uninformed individuals telling them they are the best.

If someone asks which is the best quad then I would assume they mean which quad is the best purchase as far as money vs quality, enigneering, reliability, performance.

Start reading the magazines, watch the tv programs and races, visit dealers and test ride and ask others opinions that ride all of the manufactures quads.

I know from my experience that Can-Am is definately in the top 3 for quad manufactures. Are they the best? Maybe. Opinions are different for each individual on what makes the best quad. I know they are expensive. I know they are reliable. I know they are fast. Does that mean they are the best?

To tell the truth I haven't seen a grizzly down here except for around older peoples farm and those are becoming rare. Mostly what I see are hondas and polarises with the occasional can-am.
