1000cc is perfect and as an example the r1 motor come stock with adjustable cams so you can adjust your power accordingly. otherwise just gear it! You have to understand over the years the motors in the motorcycling world are becoming less and less streetable. So what i mean is the older EFI motors are making more power down low to mid where as the newer bikes - say 07 are making power at high rpms. That kind of power is good on a track or highway but if you near woods or on the public street id really look into anything from 01 to 06 EFI depending on company. Id look at some torque charts side by side of all the top makers in thoses years.
