Default Snow plow questions for 650 XT max

Hello,

I'm looking for a snow plow for my 2010 650 max XT. I can't make up my mind between a 54" and 60" and then what brand? I'm doing mostly a driveway. Two dealers around here wanted to sell me the cycle country which looks like a good blade. Then I just got a new can am catalog in the mail yesterday and they had can am plows that "looked" cheaper in price???

Any thoughts, things I should look for or stay away from?

Thanks!

I'd bet that the Can-Am plow system is made in China... but I could be wrong.

I've had two Eagle Plow Systems on my last two quad... excellent systems, and they are made in the USA. The "Tusk City Slicker" plow system sold by RMATV is the Eagle Plow System... just a better price.

Your 650 will handle a 60" blade with no problems. However, if you need to get into tight places, the smaller blade may be better.

Don't get a plow from Can-Am - they are lousy. I have one, and have had problems from the get go. The cable for the change of direction handle freezes up, the locking mechanism freezes up, and the blade does not lift up high enough. Try a Warn.

Right on about the Can am factory plow, Id stay away from them! The above mentioned ones "Eagle"are good too.. Google the name denniskirk in Rush City Mn. they usually have discount plows for sale...I'm waiting for the warn plow to get the bugs out of the Electric "Swivel" turn option, before I get that one..I'd like to have that option, to adjust the blade on the go! Some people like the "County" plow type that has one end higher, just like the state hwy dept. Good Luck..post the brand you end up buying..

I've had both size plows (both moose)and to be honest, I thought the smaller one was better. The 650 will handle the 60" no problem- but it just felt awkward and clumsy When plowing the driveway. The 54" with the top deflector worked the nuts!

I have the 60", and I like it just because it can plow more. With it, my (fast yellow) Can-Am 650 handles virtually any snow I care to plow, up to about 8" or so. (More if it's light and fluffy, less if it's wet and heavy.) I can plow the little private cottage road in two passes.

I ended up getting a 54" and I"m glad I did, NOT that I couldn't push snow all day long with a 60" blade, I could! Just that my driveway has a lot of 90 degree corners and it just seems like it's easier with the smaller blade. The cycle country blade is working out well.

Thanks.
