I would like more power too so I'm getting lighter tires. I'd be happy with 650-750 cc and I'm not saying that 800 wouldn't be fun but I like fast too much so I bought something that's not fast - I bought a Honda.

The Paiute trail has over 800 miles of trails and 13% of those are gated 50" trails which just so happens to be some of the best trail riding. There are another 1000 miles of Forest Service trails and several of those are also gated 50" trails. I have zero use for anything wider that 50".

We have RZRs, RSR S and a RZR 4 and I much prefer to ride than drive.

I probably average somewhere around 18 mpg and on a long slow cruise (maybe 30 mph) I have no trouble squeezing 27 mpg out of my old machine. The one thing I don't like is my 3.6 gallon gas tank. Hello flatpack. LOL

I much prefer this kind of riding than flying down a country road or out in the desert 80 mph.

These were some friends from Salt Lake and our camp hosts here at the resort and that's the Renegade that I rode. He needs new tires.

I was going to say that the Renegade guy needed something better than the Holeshots.

Another reason I got the X2 at the time was the nice 6.0 gallon gas tank. I've done 120 miles in a day without filling up. Was getting low though.

Back to the original topic, a reason to look at CanAms is that they get really good gas mileage. My best tank ever was 22 mpg on a railtrail at a steady 30-35 mph. My son, as I may have said, got over 30 mpg while his engine was being broken in.

x2

I haven't worked out the numbers yet, but the can-am efi fuel map is pretty sweet. my rene 800 (and my other outty 650 & 800's) sip the gas. the grizzly's and popo's will be blinking and I'll still have a solid 3 or 4 bars (1/3 tank). when you consider they have one of the highest hp atv's and getting better gas milage then the other big-bores- they're doing something right.

I guess my ideal quad would have my X2's dumpbox/passenger seat, Polaris' ride, Polaris' front storage, towing, and rack numbers, Polaris' frame, CanAms power and economy, Honda's reliability, Yamaha's power steering and CVT system, Kawasaki Brute Force looks.

Mine would be a 750 Rubicon with a 10 gallon gas tank.

That's an interesting mental picture there. Either a huge gas tank in the middle that sticks up or out an extra foot or a severely unbalanced quad. "Why you leaning so much to the right, Bob?" "I have a full tank of gas." Just amusing myself on a Monday morning.

I'm still amazed they managed to cram a 6 gallon tank on mine. It is a nice feature.
