And add cooling to that for me. I hope they have the hot running issues covered now.

Now, hurry up and do the rest of the line up... LOL

Also
Polaris 400 2 stroke is a 378cc
Sportsman 800 is a 760cc
Outlaw/KTM 525 is a 510cc
400 KQ/Eiger is a 376cc (AC called it a 375 4X4 Automatic)
450 Grizzly/Wolverine is a 421cc

It can go the other way.

400 Sportsman H.O is a 455cc

I like the dead on method.

660 Grizzly is a 660cc
TRX 420 Rancher is a 420cc
325/425 Polaris Xpedition are a 325cc and 425cc
366 Arctic Cat is a 366cc.
I bought a new ATV recently and I got a TON of market research both from Polaris and from more general market research places. I must have filled out a dozen or more surveys and spent a l-o-n-g time on the phone with some of the places. Their questions were very in depth, annoying so in some cases. A couple of the surveys had questions on the practice of engine CC misrepresentation. It felt good to give some feedback directly to the manufacturers about it. On one of the phone interviews the question came up and I made it as plain as I could - I consider it lying and it reflects badly on the manufacturers who engage in it. After all, if they intentionally misrepresent one thing what's to say they won't lie about something else. It may be slick marketing but it's bad business.

Rounding to the nearest 5cc can be justified I suppose. Even then what would be wrong with a Sportsman 760? Heck I think a rancher 329 is a catchier name than a rancher 350. A CanAm 976 Outlander has a European supercar sound to it plus it isn't deceptive. Why not just be honest?

Any ideas of the true weights of the outty 1000 XT package. I know it can't be the same as the non XT @747 lbs with all the add on's. It's got to be in the 800 lb range. My warren winch weight alone is 14 lbs not counting bracket. Heavy duty bumpers weight I would guess another 25 lbs or so. Power steering?? Carlisle tires are 28lbs each rear, 22lbs each fronts not sure what the stock rubber weighs for comparison. I wish they would be upfront and give true weight instead of beating around the bush.

XT model added features:
Tri-mode Dynamic Power Steering (DPS™)
Visco-Lok QE
Cast-aluminum wheels with machined finish
26-inch Carlisle∞ ACT radial tires
3000-pound WARN∞ winch with roller fairlead, wired remote control and integrated remote storage
Heavy-duty front & rear bumpers
Handlebar with wind deflectors
650 watts magneto
Industry-exclusive NEXT G-1 Vista∞ Camo color option
NEW Pure Magnesium Metallic painted plastics color option

I do not pay attention to the weight, if I have a 700lb girlfriend and you have a 600lb girfriend, guess what we both have fat chicks.

I think the weight of a atv is like wondering if Fords 1/2 ton pickup weights more than Chevy's.

Only in Racing ATVs or motorcross does pounds matter. Once a machine is over 500 lbs your not going to body English it any more than your car.

I'm different. I like to know what kind of actual gains the extra 11 hp will give you vs weight gains. I don't know if people realize a extra 60 lbs will negate some of that 11 hp gain. I would say 2-3 hp will be used pushing the extra weight. And if your girl friend is 100 lbs heavier your really going to be a toad.

If I have a passenger, I always look back once in awhile in case they fell off a mile or so back, thats how much weight means. I really doubt I feel much differance if there on or off.

I just find it interesting that they're back to internal combustion engines again. The flux capacitors of the 2050s were replaced by ion drive systems in the 2070s. Then in 2099 they found that big oil reserve under Cleveland, and walla, we're back to internal combustion engines for 2112.
