Default 500 outlander

I got rid of my Sportsman 500HO looking at plain 500 Foreman or 500 Outlander. I use it mostly for hunting fishing and hauling wood. Just looking for some honest input not brand bashing. reliability is a concern.

Thanks

Your not going to get much brand bashing here. Mostly brand loyalty. I think I'm speaking for most, many of us own more than one canam and these won't be the last. It is a great manufacturer. The Outlander and Foreman are both great chooses. Reliability on both would be high. Honda's are very reliable but might not have all the bells and whistles. You would be happy with either, Good Luck.

Foreman is more of a work machine than the Outty. Outty is much more fun with good utility built in. Outty has true 4wd, Foreman has a limited slip front. Not a big issue unless you do a lot of off camber rock climbs or "barely make it through" mudholes. Foreman has a stronger frame by far than the Outty. But an Outty with a frame insert and skid plates takes care of that issue. The Can-Am 500cc is the fastest utility quad with a 500 and will beat the 550s that are out there. Just random thoughts.

I get tired of the 'frame' issue. Yes there have been a few with problems, but no more than Polaris or Yamaha and certainly not as many as King Quads. For those concerned, the frame insert on pre-2011 models makes it a non-issue even on abused quads. I think a lot of the problem is how some people percieve new or different ideas. The spar frame doesn't look like the one on their 10 year old quad so it must be bad or weak or whatever. There are thousands of Outlander and Renegades out there running hard with no frame insert and doing just fine. Get over it and move on. The Renegades and Outlanders are at the top of the heap of a mountain of quads.
