ds750 or ds1000
Hey guys looking to start a build using the ds650 and the gsxr motor. I have a 1999 750 motor, it needs all the wiring, electronics , throttle bodies and exhaust. But i am seeing info on this build were guys are saying the 750 is down on torque and that the 1000 is the way to go. I would hate to go through all the work and be dissapointed in what i have built. I am building it as a dune bike, play riding , hillclimbing and tree shots. Is it worth the effort to build it with the 750 or should i find a 1000 instead?

I would go suzuki gsxr 1000, It is a very easy mortor to install and will put a smile on your face. my motor kit cost 1400.00 dollars and about a 1000.00 more for chain and sprocket, and misc. stuff to make it nice. took me about a 100 hours of looking and thinking how the best way to do it.

BigRay is using the stock tank. He did mke the throttle bodies.
I would suggest that you try and make the Dumont triop that is being discussed in another thread. You will see two of the finest conversion builds out there and be able to get some tips and tricks for your own build. I've ridden with one of them many times and it is very hard to keep up with on a good running 730. And I was on the shake down ride with the other and it is a badazz ride also. Should be dialed in perfectly now.
C'mon out and join the party.

1000. We had a guy that built several DS Busa 1300's. Hella nice machines. Then I think he did one in a GSXR and it was lighter and more balanced. May have been somebody else that did the first 1000 but the consenus is that the 1000 is the motor to convert with.
What you have will be huge gains over the 650 Rotax, all depends on your budget and time I guess.
