ds750 or ds1000

Thanks for the info. I bet it does dune well with a +4. I'm going to look at turning the injectors down so I can use the stock tank. Also going to try to keep the radiator in the stock location like my last one.
Going to check out a mildly wrecked 06 gsxr1000 this weekend. The price is right, hope it isn't in too bad of shape.

I haven't checked in here in a long while but its nice to see some others working on DS650 conversions. Here is my 750 that came out of a 2003 Kawi ZX7R. I have had it for about four years and am really happy with it. It was built by Gregg Underwood (aka SupersonicToys) who use to hang out here years ago. He has done several Busa conversions but that wasn't what I was looking for as I primarily wanted a fast dune bike. I've done quite a bit to it since I bought it like Fox floats, a lightweight aluminum subframe that Pipelayer built, and a 520 chain/sprockets. It has a +5 Ace swingarm so is very dunable and with the added weight of these streetbike motors you don't have to go crazy on swingarm length.
If I was building another one I would probably do a GSXR 1000 as others here have suggested. Nothing wrong with a 750 through especially if your not a really big guy. I'm ~175 and the bike flat out moves and never leaves me feeling like I need more power. I run neck-n-neck with most of the duel injector Turbo Raptors that are setup for drag racing on the hill.
