Tiger Tail Tow System Install on Can-Am G2 Outlander

Here's a look at how I mounted a Tiger Tail Tow System to my Can-Am G2 Outlander 1000XT.

A quick article, including video, showing how I installed a Tiger Tail Tow System on Can-Am G2 Outlander ATV. I wanted to get it tucked up nice and high and also solidly mounted so it doesn't rattle. I custom-made the mounting brackets using an old Yamaha Grizzly mounting plate (cut, bent, and re-welded) plus a cheap 2" receiver hitch that I chopped up ($12 on sale at Princess Auto). I'm very pleased with the result, although clearly my video-making skills still leave a lot to be desired - in this one I demonstrate blown-out exposure, camera-shake worthy of a heroin addict on Monday morning, and ****-poor post-production lightening in an awful attempt to correct for underexposure in the garage. What fun!!

So its basically a rear mounted Winch so you can pull yourself out of a mud hole backwards.

For just towing something would you just not put the ATV in 4wd low and let the ATV do the work instead of the winch motor?

It's a retractable tow rope. Pull it out to use it. Let it go to retract it.

OK sorry I get it now, so you do not have to stuff the tow rope under your seat any longer.

Yep. Personally, I'm cheap in many ways and the $10 tow strap has worked well when needed. Just throw it in the box after it dries back out. I like the concept but am not willing to pay that much for it.

I think the stuck guy your pulling out better have the tow rope handy. If I,m stuck I just toss them my winch cable and lock it and they tow me out because the winch motor is to slow for my patience.LOL

I always try to tow them out first too. If that doesn't work it's winch time.
