Well, I made my first dune trip with the DS last Saturday and had a blast. I was impressed with it to say the least. I have a stock DS with 8-paddle haulers (22") and I was beating piped banshees, raptors, and 440exs in drag races consistantly (it took about 1/2 the day to figure out to get a good launch though). I did have a problem with one bad-a$$ raptor that had about a 6 inch ext. swingarm, aftermarket pipe, and who knows what else. If he jumped me from the line, I could not cautch him, but with a good start, him and I were side by side. I'm not trying to say that I had the fastest bike out there by any means. There was a Quadzilla and a highly modded banshee that consistantly beat me by 1-2 bike lengths. They also happen to be the guys I ride with so I'm not going to hear the end of that for a while. I can't imagine having the Team Pami 760 or the turbo on the DS...pretty scary to even think about it!

Wich dunes did you go to,TexasDS?I went to Little Sahara OK. a couple of weeks ago and had a Blast on my DS.My first time on the dunes, and I WILL be going back as soon as I can!I loved getting into the big sand bowls at around 50 mph or so,and feeling the G force pulling me into my seat, and my suspension compressing.WOW!

The closest dunes to me are the LA Dunes in Louisiana. I've heard about Little Sahara, and want to make a trip there pretty bad. It's about 7 hours from Houston though.

The dunes are about 20 miles north of Oakdale around a town called Forest Hill off of Hwy 165. There are also about 30 miles of trails that I haven't been to yet called Clayborne trails that I heard were really close to the dunes.
