Default Can Am Renegade Ignition Switch Programing

Hi All,

I have a Can Am Renegade 2010 500 and the lights don't work, high and low. I checked all fuses and relays and all appear good. My ignition switch however feels like its not working right. There is a position on the ignition switch for lights, so, I am thinking of changing the ignition switch. Will I need to reprogram the key if i use the original key and a new switch. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Steve

Can-Am ATV Forum is the place for your answer. I think the switch will come with a new key and your old key will not unlock it. The keys are programed to the ECU not the switch. I could be wrong so go asked at the link I provided.

HI, I believe the keys are interchangeable. I don't see a link. And thank you!

HI, So the final solution was a bad ignition switch that fixed the light issue and I did not have to reprogram the old key. It fit perfect in the new ignition.

Thank for the responses.
