I just got back from a week trip to Pismo Beach sand dunes here in California. Aside from the weather being a tad testy at times my group had a great time. What I really couldn't get over though was the amount if DS's I saw there. It was truely amazing. I always liked the fact that my bike was a minority but I guess that's no longer true. They were everywhere in groves. What was also truly amazing was the complete lack of Raptors. I counted about seven or eight total the whole time I was there. Maybe the DS is finally getting the attention it deserves. I sure as hell hope so because it was fun being in a sea of yellow.

My XCT's are much better than the stock Kendas in our sandwashes, How are they going to do at Pismo? IS EVERYBODY running Paddles?
I'll be there on Tuesday, a week from today, with my XCT's.
How am I going to do?? And our raptor is running stock tires too. The Grizz should have it's new Spidertraks 25"x12.5"x12" That's a lot of flotation, especially with the stock 10" rears in front.

We're hauling a lot of iron a long way, but I can't see buying new tires and wheels for just 5 days. It's pretty far, we may never do this again, and then we hear there are dunes only 2 hours from here in Arizona near Safford. I can always get tires wheels delivered to the Hotel. It's too late for them to get here before we leave.
Whadda You Think?

fourlix due not get paddles for the dunes near Safford AZ. It has been a few years since I have been there but my Hole shots work fine. There is only one hill about 40 or 50 ft tall no big deal. Most of the riding area is open desert and small sand hills. It does have great hot tubs. here is the link

Great Link! Thanks CalDS650. So we'll definitely suffer along with our regular tires, even at Pismo. We'll have fun, and maybe develop a taste for duning eh?

I think the dunes have gotten better since you have been there. The main dune is a lot biger than 40 50 feet. It may noy be no pismo or Glamis but it is fun in its own way. I am getting paddles in a couple of days cause I NEED them.
