I have shrouds on mine and I still run hot. I'm thinking of trying an additive, but I don't want to risk any damage.

biggy is right on the money. There is a reason Bomb put in the thermostat and it wasn't to make the DS run hotter. Never remove the thermostat.

I`m looking into finding a lower temp one.If I find one I will let you know. For Hondas CBR 600 F3 ther stock one went for $45.I found one for under$10 and it was 20 degrees cooler. You can try taking the center out,but you have too set and warm it up like a two stroke.

Lower temp doesent mean lower engine temps you might even suffer from higer engine temps ....if the engine runs hotter then the stat it will just stay open continusly..and run hotter..most of the time over heating is being caused by a failure of a part ..not a design fault! look else were for your problem....my 2 cent's

Default DS650 THERMOSTAT REMOVAL?

I hate to say that I am a non-beliver in this no thermostat making the DS run hotter. Makes no sense to me, I've run cars with no thermostat and the run very cool. I don't see why this wouldn't be true for the DS ? I live in canada where thermostats are very important.... for heat, to get the motor (and coolant) hotter so the occupant will have heat.

The only thing I can see happening (benificial) is when the motor coolant gets hot enough to open the thermostat there is a nice initial "quench" of cold coolant come in from the rad. but this should only be short lived and would be like having no theremostat once it is opened.

I don't see why the thermostat would close again riding. The motor and coolant are all hot. Or does it?

I'm just trying to figure this out. Sorry if it sounds ignorant.
