knutz, u r being too harsh on the raptors. We have our two raptors and have run the crap out of them. We havent had one single problem with either of ours and have friends that have 2 more and havent had a single problem out of theirs either so dont start talking about reliability, especially since who was the one working on their DS at sand mountain? We've got 'em both and can speak from experience. They're both great quads. But I don't ride the Raptor much anymore, it just feels kinda puny compared to the DS. Skyler loves his Raptor. He also says he does not like the DS or the Grizzly. And I agree, the Raptor is perfect for him. It has a Durablue axle and GYT heel guards and AC nerfs. It is basically stock with some extra protection. Wider axle (kinda like training wheels) nerfs and skids to protect his little feet. He rides very well for just 13, and he is small for his age, 5'tall, 90 lbs dripping wet. But it really is a great quad for wives and kids, and the reverse gear helps them turn around when there isn't a man around to do the job.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]

 

LOL to f'n funny comment about a man being around. I am a woman and love my raptor, could of had a ds but thought it was not all that being so big and bulky. Why does so many riders act so childish coming on here to cut down other type of quads. I sure have lots fo people liking my quad better than my husbands ds. So all around it is what a person wants and likes to ride. I can do anything a man could and proble better!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Yes Sean, I was working on my DS at sand mountain, but after all the miles, races and dyno runs, I think one water pump seal[the other was still holding] is not much to go wrong. 20 minutes to replace the seal, and it was fine.

I'm not being harsh on the raptor, just defending the DS. Raptor 720 and I have gone through this before, and it's all in fun. There are no hard feeling between you and I either, no worries.

Just keep in mind, there were no Raptors that would willingly race Jeff or I. They only way we could race them was to sneak into the line up.

 

That wouldn't have been sand mountain near Reno would it?? I only recall one or two DS models there and they were very very slow.
