DO the upper A-arms, or a full set if you want to save even more weight.
The TimmyBoys are works of art, I haven't seen any of the other A-arms out there, but the TimmyBoys are lightweight ChromeMoly, TIG welded, with maintenence free Heim Joints ( I put a little chain wax on them anyway).
....The Steering damper hides the problem, the upper A-arms fixes it. Plus with the steering damper you have to fight it as well as the steering. I like a light steering that responds quickly on the trails, increasing the caster will increase the steering effort, but not as much as a steering damper.
.... I don't see how anything could handle better than a DS set up like mine, and I ride everything I can swing a leg over.
A stock 400 EX is downright squirrly in my opinion, I guess you can get used to one, even if Honda does bring out a 450EX I bet it will need A-arms.

I know what you mean they always brag about the 400EX handling but I feel like I'm sitting on top of it not riding it. One of the guys we ride with has one but he is out of commission, we took a trip to the track in Uxbridge MA and my friend tried a little barrel role down the front straight. It was right after a big table top. He ended up with a fun ride to the Hospital and a broken clavical. That quad seems like a nice trail quad but not enough power for my liking my last quad was a LT500 quadracer and I just couldn't go from that to a 400EX. I looked at the Bomber but it was even bigger than my LT 500, and for the trails that was as big as I would want. With my axel and my front ssd shocks and spacers my Raptor is about 48" at both ends and that feels about perfect (to me and for my riding area) My Raptor feels so much more comfortable (size wise)than the 400Ex (to me)and with the bigger rear axel and SSD Elka's up front it handles great.

BTW The new Baja looks awsome and seems to have corrected the minor problems the ds had. If they would just dump 75 lbs and bring it down to 48" wide and about 2 or 3 inches lower, I think they'd have a perfect trail quad (FOR ME).
