Is this qwiksilver carb really worth the money. I have stock with dynojet kit, am I going to tell a difference. Will it work with Graydon pipe. How much money and will the bike start better in the cold. Is the thumb throttle still easy to push. What is their web site. Thank you.

CALDS650,
I seem to remember that you ride at Glamis. If so, have you run China Wall with your current set-up? I feel that I may not be getting all that's available in power with my setup. If you have run the wall, can you remember what gear you crest the top in and at what point in the power band? I have been messing with my jetting and the best I can get is the upper end of third gear with a tapering off at the top of the hill. I can beat my buddy's Raptor 80% of the way up then he passes me at the very top. I am curious if the Quicksilver gives significantly different results. On the dunes my buddy can't keep up with my DS, it's just on this hill that he can catch me, this must be stopped.

ken, my ds is about the same as yours 3rd gear all the way and slowly tappering at the top, however the raptor i ride with which has stage one as well, had to drop to second at top. i run 22" edge, 14t counter and a 42mm mikuni with k&n. just my .02

Jbomb It will work with the Graydon pipe. It dose start easy but I am not sure about the cold thing. Remember I live in Southern California and 50 degrees is cold here. The thumb throttle is still a work in progress it just a twist for now. I am not sure about the difference between the Dyno Jet set up and mine. All I know is that with the stock CDI box I was hitting the rev limiter early. The Ron Wood CDI is making more power. The best way to put is at Olds I would climb it in third gear hitting the rev limiter, now with the new CDI I can get in too forth gear after the whoops too about 2/3 of the hill then I down shift to third and pick up speed to the top. Ken I can not say how it will work at the China Wall cause I have never been there I ride mainly at Mammoth wash just small hills. I due need too join a new group cause the guys I ride with have given up going to the dunes or moved out of the state.

GlamisDS650,
Thanks for the info, I feel a little better now. I am currently running a 190 main, down from a 195, clip in 5th position with Dynojet needle, and the stock 32.5 pilot. It is running very crisp with "on demand wheelies", but I still feel that there is more to be had prior to a big bore mod. By the way, do you beat the Raptor you mentioned or does he catch you at the top. I may just be too conservative through the whoops.

CalDS650,
Your results with the Quicksilver are encouraging. Although I've never tried hitting fourth at the bottom of Olds I don't believe my DS could pull that gear like yours does. Have you heard anything new on the release date of that carb? BTW, my group will be at Glamis December 8 & 9 at wash 4. Your welcome to join us for a tour of the "bigs" where we spend all of our time.

ken, the raptor has yet to beat me on any hill. his gearing is stock and the whoops usually eat him up. he can't seem to keep the front end down. oh, and one other thing . i'm a small guy 140 lbs. he weighs in at 225lbs.

our group, mainly from california. i'm in tucson. love the big areas as well. we'll need to hook up some time. i won't be back out till dec 16

Glamisd650,
Man, with your weight at 140lbs your DS must haul. Mine has to haul another 50lbs on top of that! I forgot to mention the gearing, my buddy's Rapter has a smaller front sprocket, pipe, filter, and I jetted it for him-dammit. Actually, China is the only hill he beats me on, and it ain't by much, but it's enough. I just get too haired out on the whoops to hit them hard enough.
