Turbo DS Tire Smoking Problems

It's time to start thinking about rear dirt tires again for the turbo DS. Everyone knows the kenda dominators suck. I've tried 20" razors, 21" mudsharks, and 22" trail claw II. All are noticeably better than the dominators.
Presently with the 22" trail claw II, 17/38 gearing, taking off in second gear, I smoke the tires and rev the motor to 10,200 RPM instantly, shift into 3rd same thing, shift into 4th start to gain traction and accelerate, either keeping it wide open for the remainder of the 1000 foot race or using fifth. This is on a dry, flat, hard pack dirt field containing fine loose dirt particles, slippery as ice.
Suggestions other than rolling on the throttle? The trail claw II do well overall, I am happy with them, but as they begin to wear I am thinking about what to try next. I went with a 22" taller tire for more traction, so I think I should stick with this idea, I have 23" fronts to keep the DS stable. I run a 10" diameter rim with 22" tires for more stability in turns. The trail claws II are fairly lightweight which is a plus. I might be forced to run a heavier tire though. I still want to run a tire that is good for all types of terrain. Realters sound nice, but not for hard pack.

This sounds exactly like the conditions and traction problems that the Garage staff had when they tested the 760. Just look at the roost they were throwing in the pic at the bottom of the review. They threw that roost around the entire 1/8 mile oval they had set up.
The best things you could do would be run a short swing arm to load more weight on the rear, and try a set of Hoosiers so you can grab the surface once you finally spin threw the loose surface.

Scooby, i dont know how much power you must have, but i finally finished my TURBO RAPTOR and it totally kicks a standard raptor, but with the standard tyres it hooks up really good, i can power wheelie in top gear, but i will be changing them as they punchure very easily, if you find a tyre that works well Email me..........!

For dragging only, back off the retaining nuts atop the rear shock some (allowing more sag and weight to the rear tires), and move your tail towards the rear of the seat during launch.
Try pulling out in 4th and feathering the clutch.
You need more gearing too.....is a 19 tooth available? You can't think in stock atv power terms....you have a beast there.....more gearing will help tame it. Good luck.
