Are Baja arms superior to Timmy Boy, or other aftermarket arms?

For those of you who have ridden the new Baja, or added new A-arms to a regular DS:

Would it be better to buy A-arms from TimmyBoy, Alba, (insert name here), or have the new arms on the Baja exceeded these companies in handling.

Which perform the best? Which are stronger or lighter? What is the cost comparison?

I want uppers and lowers, and to stay as close to the stock dimensions as possible.

Knutz sells the best A-Arms for the DS you can buy, Me and two other friends that have DS's are running them. They are +1 wider and +1 forward, but you can get stock width but why would you do that, anyway they are fully adjustable so you can set them up for your style of riding. They're 650 for a full set and are lifetime garrenteed, trust me if Ryan can't break them on the 110 ft triple at REDBUD you wont either. Any other ?

TimmyBoy, American Star (from Knuts)and Strong Arm all are good set up. They are Lighter, stronger and have more adjustments over the stock set up.

Guys, I'm starting to get worried about Fourlix. Normally he would have been all over this one.

Scooby had problems with his timmy boys. I havent seen a A-Arm show down in the mags about who's is best but I think I already know the answer.

Thanks so much for the responses. This website is such an advantage to have. It is so much more usefull than the mags.

The reason I would stay stock width is because I do ride woods a lot.

I will most likely consider Knutz product.

Oh boy... here we go again! Time for another reminder. No one with a conscience would buy anything from Last Rebel/American Star (Yes, it is one and the same company, regardless of what any dealers would have you believe). For you newbies who haven't heard about the kind of person Kip Kilburn (owner of the company) is, here you will find enlightenment. I believe we should try to keep all crooks out of our sport. Same problem with Alba's DS arms -- they are also produced by Kip Kilburn.

If you don't race, consider Strong Arms. They're relatively inexpensive. Mark keeps the price down by using mild steel and skipping the heims. And the foreign exchange rate advantage doesn't hurt. He corrected the stock caster problem. Forget the Baja A-arms -- they have the exact same caster angle as the standard DS.

If you do or plan to race, you'll want to avoid any A-arms wider than the stock arms. None of the major racing organizations allow ATVs over 50" wide. You'll just run the risk of getting caught and DQ'd. And, you'll feel better about yourself for not cheating.

I deal with Kip on a regular basis, and have to restate my dis-agreement with your post. He has come threw on every promise that he has made[even if it took too long some times] and shown to be a quality business man. He has gone out of his way to update costomers arms with a new design, at no charge. When a heim bent on one customers arm, it was replaced without question. At this point, even if there is a problem with American Star Racing, your dealers would be there to take care of you. They do not sell customer direct, so if you trust your dealer, you should have not worries. I've discussed this issue with Kip, and I've mentioned it to you as well, if you know of someone that feels they were cheated and things not made right, let Kip know. He can't even try to make it right if he doesn't know about it.

Hey Gregr, crook or not they're still the best f'n A-Arms out there, I'll never need another set. My frame will break before these A-Arms do. And as long as you go though Knutz there's nothing to worry about.
