Does anyone know what the stock position of the e-clip on the needle on the 01 DS? From top to bottom?

Mine was on the second, I moved it to the third,when I rejetted and went to a carb-mount K&N.

 

biggerisbetter, was your stock setting on the 2nd slot from the top of the needle or from the bottom of the needle? Man, I'm confused again, clip up-needle down- more lean, clip down needle-up more rich...correct?

 

buttfungus, My needle (the top being one and the bottem being five), Was on the fourth. That is what the service manual calls for also. I tryed to move it up to the third( witch would lean the mid range) and it ran good but my fan was always running.A good sign that it was to lean.I hope this helps.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Mine was on the 4th position also. How about this cold weather Fungus? We tried to ride Sun but we froze our azz off!

Yeah, I wanted to ride as well but too cold for me! You guys are crazY!..lol I just re-jetted mine again to a 170 main and moved the needle up one position. I was running a little on the rich side with a 175 main and the k&n filter in stock air box. I haven't got to try it out yet. Too much company! Anyway,....I heard that your going to start up our new North Texas DS-650 atv club right? We might be able rustle up enough people to start a club maybe...just an idea..???? What do you guys think? I think you and or roostononyou should get it started.
