They have flat track races here in the summer on saturday nights. I just moved here so I havn't checked it out yet but I will be there this summer. I never raced flat track before maybe you can give me some hot tips before I go emberis myself. As I hear it from my friends, they don't get to serious, its just a cool way to spend a saturday night. I cant wait to take the bomb out there mix it up.

If you really want to show them up go out there with snow mobile shocks, I don't remember if all of Ski doo's shocks are the same but I got ahold of some brand new for about $74 a piece and the springs are only about $20-25 a piece up to 180 lbs then they really get expensive. So you can afford to play with some different rates. The only mod you have to make to the shock is to grind the grommits flush with the eye. These set your quad close enough to the ground to barely bottom out when fully compressed. As long as the track is smooth you shouldn't have any problems, I haven't. The reason I choose to go with snowmobile shocks instead of aftermarket is because of the price. A word to the wise would be to have your bomb shop put the springs on the shocks, it will save a fight if you don't have a spring compressor. As for the back I raise the nuts on the shock as far as I could and tighten to let my weight lower the rear. But I have also modified my frame to allow the chain to clear(burns too many rollers if you don't) But I would recommend lowering yours until it is about to touch the roller, or take itand the bolt off and go until it is about to touch the frame. This is better as a two man job with your help doing most of the work. Make sure you check clearance with you on the quad. AND DON'T FORGET TO ADJUST YOUR CHAIN!!

Yah, I have a line on some shocks that might work for lowering the rear and when I get the worx shocks for the front I will alter the stockers for lowering the front also. How about tires, I noticed you use hoosiers on the rear, what do think works best up front?

For the rear I use Hoosier "Tri-Trac" tires mounted on Douglass .190 rims and for the front I originally tried to order Hooiser "Micro Sprint" tires but through two of Hoosier's mistakes and time running out I ended up recieving and running "Dirt Fronts", they aren't a bad tire for a moisture holding track, if the track you run on is more of a dry slick track you may want to use Hoosier's "Quad Front." I used my stock wheels for the front tires.
