I was down in Fresno this weekend with my quad and saw the Fresno river bottom. Looked sweet, all sand and a few tracks here and there but I couldn't find anywhere to park and ride. Do they allow atvs to ride there? If so where do you go?

You must be referring to the dry river bed in Madera. Its ok but the only riding is in the bed, there are no other trails leading off to better riding places. You will see all there is to see in about 2 hours. They say its illegal to ride there although I have never heard of anybody getting a ticket. I rode from a friend-of-a-friends house and took a couple dirt roads to get there, not sure if I could find the place again. I think if you exit on Cleveland, go right and go around the backside of the fairgrounds, you can park there and ride down into the river bed. Probably not worth the time it takes to drive from Sac.

Yeah no kidding about the drive. We were just down there for a hanggliding comp and wanted to do alittle riding afterwards. Looked enticing but couldn't find anywhere to jump in that didnt say no motorcycles.

Dont ride there. You will get a ticket. The sheriff dept patrol on dirt bikes. Ive talked to one of them at clawson motorsports, He sells quads and dirtbikes there... He told me if bought a new bike he would give one get out of jail free card.. Anyway the riding is not very good and you **** the farmers off if wonder out of the river.

Hey, another great place to ride is the chowchilla slough(sp?). It is only about 30-40 minutes from fresno. there is lots of sand in the bottom to fool around in. I'm only about 20 minutes from madera, 15 from chowchilla, 45-50 minutes away from fresno, 1-1.5 hours away from sacremento. Maybe we'll get to ride together some day. I'm in the process of getting a throttle cable for my rm400.
