The dealer I bought my 2002 ds650 Baja from is a new bombardier dealer. I need my 10 hr service and they said they still had to send their tech guys to a class to learn about working on the DS650. So I am looking for a good dealer to take my Baja to for the 10hr service. If you know of any good dealers in northern california let me know.

Thanks.

Make sure that whoever does your 10 hr maintainence, to check(adjust if needed) your valve clearances!

That is the thing that has me worried, the valve adjustment. I am not sure if the dealer being new would know how to do this right.

DO NOT GO TO EAST BAY MOTORSPORTS, a.k.a. Hayward Honda/Susuki/SkiDoo. I bought my DS from these monkeys and can tell you unequivically that they SUCK, BITE, & BLOW simultaneously!!!!!! Their dishonesty is outdone only by the complete incompitence. I wouldn't take my bike back there if the "sevice" was free.

Oakley Sport & Garden is another one I'd be leery of. I live 15 mins from this shop, but only use them to buy parts. When I first got my Bomb I went in to inquire about service and was told that they had lost their Bombardier certification. They also said it would be 6 weeks before they could look at my bike. This, combined with their snooty attitude has made me a little gun shy of these guys.

I've found another dealer in Lodi that's o.k., but you have to watch 'em. They are a bit disorganized and seem to somewhat inexperienced with DS's. They are honest, though. They're called Marina Boat Sales in Lodi, (209) 367-1111. Ask for Lance.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info. I guess I might hed down to the LA area and try ALBA Action. I know it is a long drive but maybe I will take the wife and kids and make a Disneyland trip out of it. I just want it done by a dealer who knows what they are doing.

I too live in Northern California. I purchased my 02 Baja up in Ukiah. I felt very comfortable with the sales staff. The transaction was a pleasure. But, the salesman and some young kid did the delivery set-up . I kinda stuck my head in the shop a couple times while they were performing this and I would have felt more comfortable if a certifide mechanic did the work. So, I can not judge the service dept very much. When I bought this, Hayward and Ukiah were it. I've since been to Hayward and I won't be back. Good luck, keep us northern cal's up to date, I'll do the same. Rich A

Anytime Power Sports - Sacramento - 916-489-9892.

Bought my DS there and my buddy got his from them. I think Jeff got both of his from them as well.

They did my 10 hour service as well.

When I first got my DS I met a few other DS guys on the trails that complained about parts availability. I can say I have never had an issue with that. They are able to get the parts in within about 3 days usually.

Their service guys are very knowledgable and are willing to help when having issues (I actually called them when I was doing my first oil change to ask about how to loosen the oil bleed screw - had not seen the issue on the forum yet.)
