Here's my Problem
#1
ALL:
Last evening I went out to our local sand pit to ride and on my way home I was racing a friend of mine on his 2001 Raptor. When I shifted into 4th, I noticed right away that my motor never came down in RPM's. I got off the feeder right away. This is the first time that I have ever noticed my clutch slip. I have a 2002 Baja that is now back to being completely stock (I had made an exhaust tip, but took it off because it was always causing my tail light to burn). My question is, I would like to buy new Pami clutch springs but am wondering if I can even order from Knutz due to his current predicament? If not, are Ron Woods springs a close second to the Pami springs or shouuld I park my bike and wait for Knutz. From what I have read here on this forum, changing the springs should cure the problem, am I correct, or have I misinterpreted the info here?
Thanks in Advance for you input!

I tried to call Knutz this Morning, but the answering machine picked up stating that he will be closed for a week to catch up and re-organize his business which is great for him and understandable, but that doesn't help me out at all. Does anyone have a set of NEW Pami Spring that they would part with or another source for me to order springs? I would like to be up and running for the weekend? Also what is TVI?

My clutch never slipped when I was all stock, but after adding horsepower I had to go with heavy springs. I bought the RWR springs because they actually wanted to sell me some, and they were half the price of Pami springs because they didn't have to ship oversees to get to the dealer. Everybody says the Pami springs are even stiffer than the RWR springs, but I must not have enough ponies to see the difference because my clutch has not slipped once since installing the RWR springs.
While you're in there, measure the fibre disk thickness to see if they need replaced from wear. The limit for total thickness of the stack of fibre disks is 27.5mm(1.0827"

HighTower:
You stated that the stack of fibres should measure 1.0827". Does that include the steels or is that solely the fibres? Thanks for your input, where did you buy your springs, how much, Phone number and company name if possible, and also do you know if they ship to Canada?
Thanks!

Wannaride, I also have the ron woods springs and they work great. The ron woods old springs were not stiff enough but since then they have been redesigned and they work fine. The phone number for RWR is (949)645-0393.
Hope that helps!

Thanks QuadLoco,
For those of you who have already cjanged springs or their clutch, what should I be looking for when I remove my clutch, HighTower has given me the specs for the Fibre plate stack, but will there be apparent signs of slipping/burning if my clutch is no good?
Thanks
