Alcohol Tip Sheet
1) Methanol will dry out your fuel lines if you leave it in the system. Puddles or droplets in contact with metal will absorb moisture leading to rust. Briefly running gas through the system when finished for the day will minimize this. An air tight seal is needed for storage, so unless your gas tank is sealed, you don't want to leave the methanol in there.
2) I like to drain the tank for proper storage. I bring gas with me to run through the system at the end of the day. My fuel lines are setup for easy draining.
3) You must run some type of upper-cylinder lube or top lube. I run Klotz. It is red so it colors your plugs making it easier to read them.
Klotz Uplon Fuel Lube
6) Fuel Fragrance
10) I run a thicker oil to offset the thinning effect methanol has when is gets in the oil. My oil temperatures have been running high on non-synthetic oil. I have switched to full synthetic. I may add an oil cooler. You will NEED to change the oil more frequently.
11) Fuel feed shortage can be a problem
12) I heard that alcohol is opposite to gas in that is requires richening up as the temperature goes up.
13) For maximum power taking advantage of the cooling effect, you should run rich at 4.0:1 to 4.5:1 at WOT. For midrange torque maybe leaner, but I'd stay under 6.0:1
