I dont believe it for a minute...why would Bombardier sell this technology to Polaris. Besides... the displacement on the Predator is the same as the Scrambler 500....Sounds like alot of BS to me!!!!!!

Bombardier's wholly owned subsidiary, Rotax, includes two divisions, one located in Vienna, Austria, and one in Gunskirchen, Austria. The Vienna facility dates back to 1823 when it produced mail coaches. Currently the Vienna plant produces tram cars for Austria, buses and other large "industrial type" vehicles. But the Rotax engine was first produced in Dresden, Germany. Rotax-Werk AG (Werk simply means "works" or "plant" while AG is an abbreviation for "Corporation"
was founded in Dresden, Germany in 1920, as an expansion of the firm Gottschalk and Company. Gottschalk had been producing a free wheeling bicycle hub since 1907. They had named the hub the "Rotax" hub which is from a Latin word meaning rotating axle. This name was given to the new facility and its products as the Rotax engine was born. An example of the Rotax's power would be the 340cc Rotax engine that was used in Formula 1 racing produced just about 5 H.P. per cubic inch of displacement while running on gasoline! Your Chevy 302 would be putting out 1500 Horsepower if it made hp as efficiently. That little 340 twin produces more peak HP than the 800cc triple did in 1971. thanks for the history lesson, that info was great.
As far as the Rotax motor. It is good for Polaris in all ways, but kind of bad for us 'Bomb owners being that was a big reason I bought my DS650 was the only place to get that motor. Now it kind of seems like it "weakens the gene pool" know what I mean?
Kind of like Ford & Dodge trucks with Diesel motors (IH & Cummins) Fact is the motors made by IH & Cummins are better than the truck they are sold in !
