Will a Dynojet jet work with a stock needle?
#2
The dyno jet kit is designed to work with the needle and the jets not one or the other. I have heard that it actually will hinder performance if you use the jets with the stock needle of the stock jets and the dyno jet needle. You can get the whole kit from rockymountainatv.com for about 45 bucks.

DSaholic is right, the dynojet jets may not flow the same with the stock needle as they do with the Dynojet needle. the Dynojet needle is the big gain anyway, it really improves throttle response on a stock motor.
Knowing you are in process of creating more air flow, because you had prior posts of asking if Mikuni had anything bigger than a 200 main for the stock carb, I should tell you that the biggest main Dynojet makes is 210, and it actually doesn't flow any more fuel than the mikuni 200. Dynojet numbers represent the diameter of the hole, as opposed to flow rate like Mikuni #'s. Check out the chart below, it may help...

I got my Mikuni 200 jet in today. This thing absolutely rocks! I cant believe the midrange gains. The sparkplug is still gray on the electode and I feel it is still too lean. I will have to step up to a bigger carb soon, especially when the weather starts to cool off! I took the DS to Haspin today and am very satisfied with the gains it has made. I am anxious to see what is going to run on Friday.

Hightower,
yes I know. I was surprised too that I wasn't bogging out. I asked NewDSlover 2 weeks ago if my "testing" seemed normal. Doesn't seem right to me but it ran strong. Who knows, If I ride slow tight trails for an hour then maybe it would load up. I'm puzzled, it's seems lately when jetting the rules don't apply to my quad.
