Engine dies/stumbles when doing a wheelie

I cant figure out what the problem is, but when I climb big hills or do a wheelie the engine will start to cut out and die altogether if the front end doesn't come back down quick. Is this a float level problem? Is it too high or too low? Im guessing its too high because it seems as if it flods the engine out. Any help?

I'd agree. After I get home, I'll look up the float level spec in the shop manual and e-mail it to you. Ernie's problem was the same thing - he, or his mechanic, must've accidently knocked it off changing jets.

Yeah Rockey, the uphill and wheelies would do me the same way after the rebuild. I jetted down cause I was really rich, and it was still there. After I went back in there and checked them, one was off quite a bit (2 carbs); the other not too bad. I raised the level of the floats by 2-3mm from specifications. My problem seems to be resolved now! I am certain now that it was the floats! I just need to find me a long steep hill to FULLY test it....
That is where I would start Roc, it is fairly easy to knock them out of adjustment if you've been in there several times in a day (like i was).

I tried every float level i could last night to no avail. I'm going to buy the Lectron and take this stock carb and throw it as far as I can. I'm glad it worked for you though I know how frustrating it was riding up those hills having the damn engine sputter. I hope it doesn't ruin my weekend coming up! You said you had to raise the float level, right? Maybe i will try one more time before i pee on it and light it on fire.

Rockey - float level should be 10mm - with carb upside down, measure from bowl seat to bottom rdge of float. Bend contact tab to set it at 10mm +/- .5mm. if you still have the problem after this, pee on it!
I don't know anybody that has ported without doing other stuff too, so you're in new territory on your tuning!
