Well it looks as if I'm not gonna be able to purchase that Cannondale after all so Im gonna keep the DS for another year and mod it somemore.

How would this motor combination work for mostly trail & Ash dump riding?

Trinity Exhaust System
Graydon CDI Ignition
44mm or 46mm Lectron Carburetor
Ported Intake Manifold
Uni Airfilter
Ron Woods .395 Cams
Ron Woods 11.5:1 Piston; will this make race gas neccesary?
Ron Woods Valve Springs & Retainers

Thanx for any answers

combo looks pretty good but you might want a few opinions on the carb selection- we saw the 45mm put a big hurting on the 44 lectrons this weekend- also I'd go with the web cams if you're into hill shooting .425 lift and a 288 duration- web cam makes some great valve springs too.

Sand45 was talked highly of over the weekend, and he runs a 44mm Lectron.

Well sand45 was having some problems with the power jet on his lectron this weekend and he switched to a 45 that knutz had with him. The 45 performed great with sand45's setup. I too am running the 44 lectron and it reall mad a big difference in the performance of my DS just ask DemonDS. So I do think that the lectron is a good carb but for different setups the 45 might be better.

What kind of setup do you guys think the 45 would work better for? I am going with the lectron. The price is right for me. When I get it I'll give my experiences with it. The 45 is just too much $ for me.

Well I think that the lectron works better withthe more mild setups such as pipe filter and cdi. The 45 seems to work better with internal mods like piston and cams. I am not saying that the lectron will not work with the other setup just that the 45 might flow more air to take advantage of the setup. Now to be fair to the lectron sand45 was having problems with his powerjet so we really couldn't compare the two totaly. I am real happy with my lectron it gave me at least a 4 bike length increase over my previous set up so I think that there is power to be gained with the lectron but maybe the 45 still does flow a little better.

Let me clear the air. The lectron 44mm carb is a great carb i just dont think its flows enough for my mods and head work! The 45mm worked better for my bike but i had prob with my power jet on my 44mm lectron so that was a factor in my performance.I did ride dsaholics ride with his 44mm lectron and it felt strong all the way! Im going to switch to a 45mm so ill sell my 44mm lectron but im also intrested in trying the new 48mm carb also! My head work i think is the main reason why the lectron got out done by the 45!
