well i got a new set of grips for the pig and after hacking one side nearly off with a boxcutter i figured out that bolts attached to plastic sleeves hold them on.Question is how do i get the grips off the sleeves or how do i fill that "gap" that was left after i took off the grips? thanks ahead.

I did the same thing!
But i tryed and tryed to cover that gap, but every thing i did failed. So i just used lots of glue aroung the gap so it cant come loose. I couldint tell the gap was there, but now i have new bars, so i dont have to deal with it now.

Good Luck

At first I tried pvc pipe. It worked ok but I just decided to get some new bars. I got the red moose bars from rmatv for 16.99. It was well worth it.

I think 918sTaxi $16.99 moose bars are the best fix. I might have to order some of those, though, not in red. Maybe Blue. Do the $16.99 moose bars you bought rub the tank at all, or do they have good clearance?

As far as 'fixing' the stock bars, I have larger hands than most guys, so I was looking for a grip with the largest outside diameter possible. The thing I found that works best also solves the stock bar problem. The cheap (like $1.99 cheap! per pair) foam grips I have also have a solid plastic tube that goes on the bar and the foam grip onto that.

My moose bars rub only on the left side of the tank not on the right...

The bars rub hardly at all, I've never noticed acually. I did have to trim about 3\4 of an inch off of each side of the bars because my controls were pretty stretched.

Here is a pic of the bars.

For anyone who lives in Southern California, Chaparral Motorsports is having their once a year parking lot sale. I just got the flyer today, a couple of the vendors have aluminum handlebars listed for under $20. As well as all kinds of other gear. I think I'll hold off on the steel moose bars until I see if any of these guys have bars that I want.

Anyone who can make the trip to San Bernardino, CA should make the trip over on the 28th of September. I know a few people who get there at like, 4:00am just to get a good spot in line. I did that the first and second year, but after that I decided I like sleeping in better.
