Another much more expensive solution, but nice in it's own way is to replace the stock tank with the IMS tank. The IMS tank is 5 gallons, (stock is 3.5) and looks perfect on the DS. I just installed mine and it is really nice. Rocky Mountain ATV is selling them right now for $199.99 with free shipping, so I couldn't resist. The new tank comes with a new gas cap which has a normal tube style vent built into it, so you wont have lack of air problems. To install this you'll need a couple of items other than what is in the kit: 1 vent hose, 2 small hose clamps, 2 6mm bolts. One thing I noticed that people who have radiator shrouds will like is that the tank is slightly wider than the stock one and causes the front plastic to curve out about half an inch or so, stopping the plastic from rubbing on the shrouds. I also did what DemonDS was suggesting and tilted the tank up in the back (about 1/2" or so) and supposedly this will make changing the inside plug much easier, which sounds like a really good thing for any DS owners who do their own work.

I have no money that i can spend right now.

If i were to just put a thicker tube in place of the little one, that way it is harder to get pinched, would that work.
