I went down to the dealer and got a couple of jets, When installing a jet I noticed it is the same diameter as the tube that the old jet was down inside of.

The tread size is the same but I would have to leave the tube off to install.

Someone please tell me I got the wrong Jet.or am I missing something ?

You have the wrong jet - don't install without that perferated tube. They gave you a large Mikuni, you need SMALL ROUND MIKUNI main jet. You can put small mikunis in place of a large, but in this case you can't put the large in place of the small because you would have to leave off the perferated tube, and that isn't what you want to do.
