Carb
#11
Update on the carb problem..Took the carb off and found that the rubber between the carb and intake had about a 2" cut in it so believe this is the problem. It apparently was sucking air ahead of the carb. Have ordered one. Took the carb apart and everything looks O.K. Guess will find out when I get my new one in a couple days.

It's really good you figured that out, sucking in large amounts of cold, unfiltered air can be dangerous to the life of an engine. Just remember to replace all the screws on your carb. and then you'll be ready to re-jet the carb in less than five minutes any time.

Blackhawk... Right. One good thing was that I didn't even get it out of the garage because it wouldn't run good enough. Just a word of caution to anyone else. I think I did it myself. When I re-tightened the carb from when I had it loose, I apparently didn't have the carb all the way into the boot and when I tightened up on the clamp, I think the clamp slowly slid past the neck of the carb with the boot caught between which slit the boot. If you can understand what I'm saying. A stupid $22 mistake I won't make again (I hope). Now it won't be in until Monday..Oh well. Have to ride as much as I can, winter is coming to Wis.
