The Red Rocks you are referring to is actually the imfomous Jawbone Canyon which is right off hwy14 as you head toward Ridgecrest. You will make a left into the place if you are heading north. There used to be the Jawbone store just down the way from the entrance where everybody rode to for a watering hole, I think It burned down though....bummer
Its been 20 some years since I rode there last but I still have fond memories. Great place to ride then.
Red Rock Cyn is actually a camp ground that doesn't allow off road riding but you can camp there and drive the 5 or so miles back to Jawbone and ride. Good Idea if you like it quiet at night but you better have reservations.
just my .02

We go out to Jawbone canyon all the time, it's a lot of fun. There are several old mine shafts you can investigate if you feel up for spelunking. Though I'm sure it's not recommended for safty reasons. In addition to all of that junk, you can also go and see old mining camps etc out there. So in addition to some fun riding, there are alot of things to look at and see which makes it that much more fun.
