Ok I just put a Ronwoods 11.5:1 Piston in my DS and I tried to start it up, but it wont start.....it sounds like it trying start but it wont. Also noticed when I hit the throttle and look through the Carburetor that there is black peice before the butterfly that I can push up & down with my finger, but it dont open when I hit the throttle. Is the normal, thanks

That is normal. the slide you are refering to is the slide in the carb it is controled by vacuum.
I would start checking your no start problem by checking valv timing and clearance.

Ok thanks for the help. My timing is 1-tooth off, could this cause my no-start problem?

Note. It seems to want to fire on the exhaust stroke. (If that makes any sense)
