Your right there are two holes behind the light already but I tried my N.S plate in the holes and you just can't see it .Only the very bottom of the plate number is visable.

 

I used the two "drain holes" in the bottom of where my tool kit is. I jsut used 3 zip ties. tow to make little o's and one on the insde to pull them tight..

it looks real slick, like my sportbike and is out of the way (not on grab bar) and doesnt require drilling.
