The accelerator pump is not all that hard to get working right and it does eliminate the quick stab hesitation, but (there's always a but) unless you run a twist throttle or you just make drag race runs, you better have a VERY stong thumb! The cable pull is radical for duning or all day riding. This may not work on everyones set-up but I have been successful with a 3/16 gap on the top screw (end of screw to white plastic cam) and adjusting the bottom screw to stop the stroke at 1/2 to 2/3 throttle.

I got the used 45mm from Marky's web site. My question is , I am planning on doing engine work in a few months (porting,cams,piston,springs)do I have to port my intake in order to use the 45mm carb right now, or should I just wait until I do the engine work to install the carb?

No reason not to. MarkyNark is right in that you will have to rejet now and again after mods but otherwise no worries. Unless your a motorhead (like me and my buddies) I'm not in favor of changing too many things at once because troubleshooting can become much more difficult.
BTW, the stock intake manifold flows quite well on the flow bench and unless you do extensive head mods (porting, big valves, cams) you won't notice the difference, and from what I've seen on the bench, you may not even notice it after. Don't get me wrong, the ported intake is part of a system that complements the port work done on RWR stage III, but if your porting differs from that formula, save your money.

OK,next question- What jetting should I run? RWR says 150 main & 40 pilot. (What # needle ?)I have also been reading about the bogging problem.From what I have read a 3/16 gap on tha pump helps this. I also found out that you can install different jets for the accl. pump.What does everyone think?--Thanks for your help!!!
