yes, you will loose a few miles on the top of each gear like 3-4 and you will spin the tires sooner and it will wheeley much easyer when it hooks up.

ok, im not trying to be an idiot here but what is the pluse going with a smaller front and bigger rear ? isnt that kinda cancelling out eachother. it almost seems that the DS has the power to go with a bigger front and keep the back stock. anyone have expieriance with that? thanx

not a prob
Ok, if you raise your rear tire its like rasing your front sproket in teath or lowering your rear in teath..
If you keep stock sprockets and raise the rear tire size you loose power.
SO to compenstate teh 15/41 with 22 is the SAME gearing with 16/40 wiht 20 stocks.
This way you dont loose power when you change tires.
use this gearing calc to under stand it http://www.markynark.com/Calculator.html and the faster it goes the less power, the slower it goes the more power.. You notice that if I raise my tire size and only lower the front sproket to 15 I am still higher gearing the the stock. SO you increase the rear to lower gearing.
rule of thumb
bigger front less power more speed
smaller rear less power more speed

smaller front more power less speed
bigger rear more poewer less speed.

thats correct!
a 15 will make your bike a littler steaper (less power) then stock.
a 14 will bring you under stock gearing a little lower (more power) then stock
15/41 will = stock power WHEN LARGER TIRES ARE INSTALLED
