What are the best rear tires for hard pack dirt and snow. After today I am going to throw out my bearclaws - no traction at anytime. What does everybody else run. I do want to keep a 22" on the rear.

ItSFaSt,
If you decide on the razor-2's let us know how they are. I was going to get them myself. But my brother had such excellent results with the XCT holeshots I went with them instead. And I am really, really happy with them. And they are cheaper than the razors.

I have used both ITP Holeshot XCT 22's and Pure Sport Bandit XC 22's in the rear. The Holeshots work better on the track and the Bandits work better on the trail. I went with the bandits because I trail ride 90% of the time. Also the bandits don't wear down as fast as the holeshots. Also if you are going to trail ride, the bandits have Kevlar belts so popping a hole in them on the trail is less likely.

I just bought some 22" Holeshot XCT's. We got about 4-6" of snow the other day and I went out to test the tires in the snow. I expected to get stuck on the big hills with the heavy weight of the DS. I was wrong there was no hill I couldn't climb, even from a dead stop. I also pulled two of my daughters in a sled (100#'s total) behind the DS and made it up the hills. The ***** really dig in and find a way to grip into the terrain. Now you will spin in almost every gear, but you will accelerate and throw some nice roosts!
