Problems with a Quest 650
#1
I’ve got a friend that just got a used Quest 650. He thinks it’s an ’01. Anyway, he rode it for about 10 minutes- it ran great. He shut it off and let it sit for a while- 30 minutes or so. When he got back on it, it didn’t run right. It was fine at idle, but through the mid-range and top end, it was stumbling a little.
He said he double checked the choke and it was off. My guess is there is probably some trash clogging the main jet. Do they come from the factory with a fuel filter?
I told him I’d post for him and see if you owners had any other suggestions that the Bomb’s may be prone to.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I haven't heard anything about the Quest, however the fuel system is a good place to look. I had what sounds like a similar problem with my DS650, then I removed the carburetor, cleaned it up, & when I re-installed it the machine ran excellent. Was the ATV sitting for a long period of time before he bought it? Perhaps some of the fuel gelled up while sitting in the carburetor. I dunno about a fuel filter, but on the DSs there is a screen on the petcock feed, which I have heard of that getting somewhat clogged or obstructed.

He doesn't know any background on the quad, it just showed up. He's the mascot for the Rchmond Renegades hockey team and he got it to use during the intermission show! If I could post a pic in here I would.
Thanks for your replies, I'll have him check it out! At least there was nothing major that came up.
