I see a lot of you guys talking about using synthetic oil or a synthetic blend oil in ds650's because it is better for the clutch and it helps prevent slipping. I am confused because it says in my owners manual to NOT USE synthetic or synthetic blend oil because it will ruin the clutch. Is this wrong? Who's right? My clutch was starting to slip not long ago so I put new clutch disks in and it was fine. My clutch doesn't slip anymore but I want to know if it will be better for it to run synthetic or synthetic blend oil. I have the stock clutch and clutch springs. Just the disks are new. ANYONES INFO WILL HELP. thanx.

I Run AMSOIL in all my rigs and bikes, its the best stuff out there, anyway you are safe to run synthetics in wet clutch applications as longs as they are wet clutch specific, AMSOIL has a specific motorcyle line of products that are "friction modifer free" as they call it......... basically the parts that have negative effects on wet clutches are removed, any synthetic that states specifically for engines with wet clutches will have addressed the issue and youll be good, AMSOIL has higher zinc levels than any other on the market(needed for high revin engines) and ball bearing tests show AMSOIL outlasts them all. I run they motorcyle 10w-40 in winter and 20w-50 in summer( south TX).
good luck

Just read the labels on the back and they will say" safe for wet clutch applications such as motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc, etc..
Rob.
If they dont say that than they can start to cause clutch slippage after about 25 hours of run time on the synthetics, after that, time for new clutch plates.
