NEED AFTERMARKET OIL TANK
AZ, That was like God giving Noah directions for the Arc. Can you give us that in cubits. (joke)
So if I got it right it's like an upside down house with a gable roof? (not joke)
Have you considered a bladered pressurized tank like on circletrack cars. I have no idea if that can work but it seems like that would keep the oil coming to the motor. (possible hairbrained idea)
I have the 2000 DS without the air bleed and can tell you they don't like air in the inlet line at all. (bad experience)

650Dog, Sure I can explain. My friend rolled his 2000 Ds in the dunes and his oil light would'nt go out. It picked up an air bubble in the inlet hose and we had to crack open the air bleed screw out in the dunes or tow it quite aways back to the truck. This is the air bleed behind the oil filter. His air bleed had never been opened and those suckers are tight from the factory. I went to the truck and got some tools and a can of carb cleaner which sprayed on the brass air bleed did the trick thermally and was enough we could burp the oil pump.
He bought his used but I'd been through it every time I changd my oil. I wonder how many 2000's burned up because of cavitation? Also, had anyone ever changed his oil?
For 2001 on up Bombardier put in a vent line in the metal elbow just as the oil enters the engine. It vents any trapped air to the oil tank.
