I live in Michigan about in the center of the L.P. I was just curious to see how many people ride the DS around here!
I would like to know how you have your bikes jetted and with what mods. Also some friends and I have a couple big trips to Silver Lake planned, one in April, and it might be cool if some of you other scoundrels showed up.

 

I have always wanted to ride quads on the Michigan trails, what are the like? I have ridden sleds there, is it the same trail system for quads?

 

Sorry man the trails are off limits to quads. It really sucks too. If you are ballsy enough you can ride on em anyway. I have plenty of times but I know people that have been nailed and its not cheap. If I remember its like a C-note per fine. There are a few designated trails though for quads. Have you been to Silver Lake? Its pretty tight over there. Giant sand hills right on Lake Michigan.

Nope I have never been there, but it sounds like alot of fun. Would I have to run sand tires or will I be ok with my Razr 2's. Are there trails around there as well as the dunes and are there cabins to rent or is it hotel only?

 

Hey, us Indiana guys go to Silver Lake twice a year, every year. We always post prior to every trip.

 

Hey stockbomb the razr's will be ok but there aren't really any trails. Just a big sand playpit.
There are a few hotels and a campground. Check into it man, its a good time.

 

When do you guys go Hightower? We are going on April 24-27.

 

I live in Montague that's about 15 miles south of Silver Lake, so I get to play in the sand quite often.
My DS is stock except for sand tires, may do some mods this summer.
by the way their are lots of trails in the UP for quads.

 

I live 1/2 hour north of port huron. I got a group going the first week end of may. May 2,3,4 Im gona post it soon.I want to see if any one can make it that week end. I CANT WAIT.
