Default Hose out of top of carb...

OK, installed a carb mount filter setup. Removed all the old filter tubes and air box. Now, what do you do with the clear plastic hose that used to mount to the inlet tube?

Thanks

I may be wrong, but the crankcase vent causes positive pressure(it blows). the carb line needs negative pressure.

That is what I was thinking. Since the carb line was in the intake tube, it was pulling a vacuum for the slide. Now that is is being vented to atmosphere pressure, is this going to affect the slide in the carb?

I thought this line is what created the diferential pressure (delta p) for the carb to reference slide position.

Anyone know anything for sure?

that is correct, if you read about the individuals that have had the carb diaphram rip, the carb no longer works.

Gaskett,
That is one of the reasons I went away from the carb mount filter. The breather filter solution works, but the throttle response is sluggish without the vacuum. When I was running the stock carb I found better throttle response and top end power when I converted to running the stock air tube with no box and a K&N. The tube doesn't collapse on mine, I have tried to make it do so on the dyno, probably because of non-restricted flow.

Carb slide gets vacuum to open from two holls that go up the center of the slide.
FourWheel was meaning just use a small filter meant for a crankcase vent on the end of the hose coming from the carb - not actually hook it to the crankcase vent. you should have a filter on the crankcase vent, buy another one for the carb tube.
I however, like Ken, always ran with airbox, no lid. Close enough to just as good in my opinion as a carb mount, for a stock carb.
