Tuning

If you are refering to an EGT probe, I have seen on other posts that 1350-1400 degrees is the range. On mine however I find that a reading of 1200 is right. There are alot of variables to consider. For instance, where is the probe mounted. Exhaust Gas Technologies recommended 6" from flange when I talked to them and that is where I put it. If you put it at 4" the temp reading would be different. I find it is best to tune on a dyno for power and record your EGT at that time and then you can use your numbers to retune for elevation or equipment changes.

My brother-in-law is a drag car builder. He likes to use a "point & click" thermo for tuning reference. I thought that it would make tuning much easier since plug testing the DS can be quite a pain (in my own personal experience). I was just wondering if anyone had done it this way. Thanks for the information KenDS.
