Last I heard, the Vortex was more $ than the RW. I think ~$350 compared to $263.

Somebody said there is more that one curve in the stock one. It kinda sounds like alot of work especially if I had to buy a rwr in order to copy it. I thought it would be easy to just reprogram the stock one.

And if you have a vortex why don't you give me a deal on your old cdi(marky or anybody)?

Actually are the vortex as much as a rwr?
I have everything thats the way i built mine and my friends you only have to break rwr once, Once you have the programs copied then you can burn new eeproms for any stock cdi box and it will turn into a rwr.

Yes, it's possible to reprogram the stock CDI. I send my CDI last week for a new program.

The new cut off will be 9400rpm'S

and you can choose de timing advance if you want.

THE REASON THEY HAVE A REV LIMITER IS BECAUSE THE VALVES FLOAT AT ABOUT 8500 RPM'S! I LIKE IT WHEN ALL THE GUYS PUT IN A BOX WITH NO LIMITER ,BECAUSE THE NEXT THING THEY DO IS BEND THE EXHAUST VALVES.THIS IS THE NEW REV-LIMITER A PISTON WITH EYEBROWES!!THE BEST MOD IS TO GET THE POWER TO THE GROUND,TIRES. 22"EXTREME 9 PADDLE.

Does anyone have any info on the PROM in the stock cdi boxes. Manufacturer or part mumber?. Its a 42 Pin DIP and only has Nipendenso Numbers on it.

I'm Trying to extract the hex code for my own exparimentation with the timing tables. We did this with our turbo Dodge ECM's, but that was all 27hc256 stuf, and there was a lot of info available about it.

Any info apreciated.

I do agree that u have to have an aftermarket CDi to get the beast to work in the meat of the power ...night and day difference to me .....

Cheers

03 was a tricky year. Add the fact that the manuals aren't always updated. The yellow standard DS '00 and '01 was 7700. There were some late model yellow ones that managed to get the newer rev box. The Baja, Viper, and BajaX is 8000 - all of them. The limit was raised by 300 rpm - thats from a source at Bombardier.
