how do i adjust the clutch?

Default how do i adjust the clutch?

i noticed you can adjust the clutch on the side of the case. what is the correct way to do this? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Default how do i adjust the clutch?

Well the measurment you want between the arm that hold the end of the clutch cable and the bracket that acts as a stop is 2 5/8" to 3"
To get make an adjustment. There is a rubber boot over the cable just to the left of the cable stop. Slide that back out of the way. This will expose the adjusting nut.
Up on the bars where your clutch lever is, is another adjustment. This one is for cable free play. The book says about a 16th of an inch. I go with as much as an 8th on mine.

Default how do i adjust the clutch?

my clutch is slipping a little, so i think it just needs to be adjusted so what way do I adjust that nut?

turn it to achieve free play in the lever. amount of freepay is not critical, as long as you have some. define freeplay as slack - cable must have slack to be certain clutch is fully engaged.
