There is a hole in your sprocket hub that will line up with a hole in the carrier, horizontally.
You have a tool in your tool kit that is long and round that goes through the holes and locks the carrier to the sprocket hub. Loosten the 2 pinch bolts at the rear most section of the swing arm, then just roll the tires and the tool will turn the carrier.
The carrier is excentric so you just turn it to loosten or tighten the chain. The chain should have 7/8" obvious free play w/butt in seat.
Hope that helps
